Benefits

Sylvania Township offers Medical (including prescription), Dental, and Vision plan coverage - eligible for enrollment effective upon the first day of work. Employees pay into the Ohio Police and Fire Retirement System and choose to contribute to Ohio Deferred Compensation, a supplemental retirement plan similar to a 401k.

Additionally, employees receive:

  • All initial issued uniforms and equipment, including fire gear.

  • $800/year uniform allowance (after first 12 months of employment)

  • Longevity pay after 5 years, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, wellness program, and gym reimbursement.

  • Technology Stipend - $75

  • $15,000 group term life insurance plan at no cost to employees.
